Southern Zambia Union Conference (SZUC) Launches OneVoice27 Evangelism Initiative

The Southern Zambia Union Conference (SZUC) of the Seventh-day Adventist Church has officially launched the OneVoice27 initiative, a major evangelism campaign aimed at mobilizing members to actively participate in gospel outreach ahead of 2027.

The launch event was held on January 31, 2026, at the National Institute of Public Administration (NIPA) in Lusaka and attracted pastors, church elders, leaders, and members from different congregations across the Lusaka and Woodlands Conferences.

Church leaders described OneVoice27 as a mission-focused movement designed to encourage believers to use every available opportunity and communication platform to share the gospel message. The initiative combines traditional evangelism with digital outreach, placing strong emphasis on the use of social media and modern communication tools.

Southern Africa–Indian Ocean Division (SID) President Harrington Akombwa, who attended the event, said the initiative reflects the biblical message of repentance, faith, and baptism. He explained that the church is preparing for the commemoration of 2,000 years since the baptism of Jesus Christ in AD 27, which will be marked in 2027.

Akombwa encouraged members to remain committed to the mission of the church and urged them to proclaim the gospel with unity and purpose. He also reminded attendees that the world is in need of hope and spiritual revival, making evangelism more important than ever.

During his address, he revealed that the Seventh-day Adventist Church continues to grow globally, with millions of members across different regions, including the Southern Africa–Indian Ocean Division territory. He also noted that the OneVoice27 initiative has already been introduced in other regions such as Northern Zambia Union and Malawi.

Southern Zambia Union Conference President Dr. Vanny Munyumbwe announced the formation of a strategic committee that will oversee the implementation of the initiative across the union territory. He called upon ministers, elders, and church members to fully support the mission and become active participants in spreading the gospel.

Munyumbwe further explained that the church intends to strengthen digital evangelism efforts leading up to 2027 by empowering members to use mobile phones, social media platforms, and other digital tools for ministry. According to church leadership, the vision of OneVoice27 is to ensure that every member becomes involved in mission work and that every platform becomes a pulpit.

As part of the preparations for the initiative, the church will also engage in prayer programs, spiritual reflection on the life of Christ through The Desire of Ages, and deeper study of the prophetic books of Daniel and Revelation.

The event concluded with a dedicatory prayer, officially commissioning the OneVoice27 initiative throughout the Southern Zambia Union Conference.
